Yesterday the Renewal Forum’s president, Steven Wagner, had an op-ed published about America’s “culture of exploitation,” which he wrote in response to the recent videos of a faux-pimp soliciting services at abortion clinics.

In America, unfortunately, the seams of our social fabric have frayed, to the benefit of those who wish to engage in, or profit from, sexual exploitation. And too often the victims are our own children.

His conclusion:

The commercial sexual exploitation of children is beyond an epidemic in the United States. We urgently need as a society to confront this crisis and undertake every possible measure to find and rescue the victims. We need to stop coddling the pimps and ignoring the “johns” who pay for sex with minors. And any health care provider who is complicit in this exploitation should be held to account.

Steve’s op/ed gets to the core of our nation’s struggle with sex trafficking, a struggle which we have only begun to recognize. Please read, pass along, and join the discussion on Facebook!
